The Earth, our blue planet, is unique in the solar system. Located at the right distance of a star with a perfect size, the Earth harbors life!

Thanks to the observations made by the satellites, our knowledge about the Earth is getting better every day. We are now aware of the fragility of our environment. Can the living beings learn to live with the climatic changes? What solutions do we have to preserve the Earth? Spaceship Earth: an humanist, scientist and poetic exhibition to learn more about the diverse landscapes of our planet and to understand how to protect it.

The exposition invites you to be an astronaut, an explorer, a space archaeologist and a visionary, with 4 themes accessible to everyone:

  • Our blue planet: come and contemplate the NASA images and discover the earth from space like an astronaut.
  • A planet full of life: discover with interactive games the conditions that allowed life to exist.
  • The human presence on earth: come and meet the human species! Observe the human action from space (urbanization, global warming…)
  • Tomorrow Earth: Will life on Earth disappear one day? How can we adapt to the climatic changes? What solutions would protect life on Earth?

Earthlings… And metropolitan.

This part of the exhibition was made by the city of Vaulx-en-Velin and the Metropole of Lyon.

What are the local climatic observations and what are the risks linked to the rising of the temperatures? What are the actions engaged to reduce greenhouse gases emission? What can we do about these global changes?
